Operations with virtual folders

Function of virtual folders

The virtual folders simplify and structure information in the catalog. You may create as many virtual folders as you want and put your disks, folders, files or custom records into them. The best example illustrating how the virtual folders work is dividing your collection by genre: Audio CD, Mp3, Software, Games, Books etc. Each virtual folder can have unlimited number of subfolders and subitems. See distributed collection sample #sample.wcat (93.5 KB) for live example.

Adding a virtual folder to the catalog

Select the Edit | Add virtual folder menu item to add a virtual folder to the catalog.

Remove the virtual folder from the catalog

To remove the virtual folder, select the virtual folder you want to remove. Then select the Edit | Remove from the catalog menu item.

Move the virtual folder to another location in the catalog

To move the virtual folder to another location select the virtual folder or a group of virtual folders you want to move, drag it to wishful location till a cursor becomes an arrow. Note: you can move a virtual folder or a group of virtual folders only into another Virtual folder or into 'My Collection' folder. An advanced option allows you to drop a file on a keyword and the keyword will be assigned with the folder.
