Hello, we’re glad to inform you a new version of WinCatalog was released.
The latest version adds SHA256 hash calculation for files. The feature is turned off by default. To turn it on, please run WinCatalog, click the Catalog button (left from the Main tab of the Ribbon toolbar), and then click Options. Follow to the General Scanning page, find the Checksum calculation section and mark the “Calculate SHA256…” option.
Please note that changing this option affects to the new scans only. If you wish to calculate SHA256 for previously catalogued files that were not changed, please turn the following option temporarily off: “While updating a disk or a folder: skip unmodified files (speeds up the update process)“. Please do not forget to turn this option back on after all to speed-up future updates.
To download WinCatalog 2017 version 17.1, please click here. You do not need to uninstall a previous version of WinCatalog - just install the latest version over the existing one.
