September is almost gone but the second beta of new WinCatalog has not been released yet. We have received a lot of feedback on the first beta version and now alongside with the adding of new features we are improving the productivity.
The search function works fast and brings the results within a couple of seconds for really huge collection file which contains more than 3 millions of records. As a comparison you may check the same characteristic for the current version. WinCatalog 2009 needs a minute and a half for the equal job. In other words the search function of the new version is at least 30 times faster.
Now we’re working at speeding up the disc scanning process which have got a lot of complains from first users. In comparison to any previous version, the new WinCatalog has a lot to do during the disc scanning and each operation like the thumbnail creation or the archives contents extraction takes time to be performed.
Please do not lose your patience! The next public version of new WinCatalog will be available within a few weeks.
