Searching for Audio Releases by searching for an Artist is similar to Searching for Audio Releases but with one extra step.
To add Audio Releases by searching for an Artist, click the From Internet button on the toolbar, switch the Search Type to Artists, type a search query, and click Search.
WinCatalog will search for artists matching the entered query and the number of the associated Audio Releases. If more than one Artist has releases matching the query, You'll see the Multiple Results window asking you to select the Artist. Otherwise, WinCatalog will start downloading Audio Releases matching the query. In the screenshot below, there are 4 artists matching the "celentano" search term, including Adriano Celentano with 231 releases, Sam Celentano, Valerio Celentano, and Halfway Home, all with one Release. Halfway Home is associated with Frank Celentano, that's why it is on the list.
Search results:
Select Audio Release on the left and inspect the details on the right. All media associated with the Release will be listed on the right pane. Click the Add button to add the correspondent media to the catalog. The added media will be shown at the bottom Basket view. Click Save to save changes, Save and Close to save changes and close the window, or Close to close the window without saving.
To remove the Audio Release from the Basket view hover the mouse over the release and click the hovering Delete button.
Useful tip: if you know the MusicBrainz ID of the artist, you may enter it as the search query in the following format: "arid:{musicbrainz-id}" or just "{musicbrainz-id}" (without quotes) and get the list of the associated releases. For example, for the following search queries "arid:arid:a530492f-8806-4bd7-9c14-80c237eb92fe" or "a530492f-8806-4bd7-9c14-80c237eb92fe" you'll get the list of Audio Releases associated with The Cat Empire:
